Easy Order — Digital Ordering for a 12-Location Restaurant Chain
HoReCa
Visual-AI-Labs replaced paper tickets across 12 restaurants and bars with a digital ordering app, kitchen dashboard and live analytics — built in 30–60-day cycles.
- −60% — Average wait time
- +25% — Average order value
- 0 — Lost orders
- 12 — Locations on one platform
A chain of 12 restaurants and bars was running service entirely on paper tickets. On a busy Friday, a single dropped ticket could lose an entire table — and the team had no way to see which dishes were actually selling without going through receipts by hand.
The problem
Orders got lost between table and kitchen, wait times stretched, and there was zero data on what was selling, when and where. Every location managed its own paper trail; group-level reporting did not exist.
The solution
Visual-AI-Labs delivered a digital ordering platform in two 30-day cycles. Servers take orders on tablets, the kitchen sees a live dashboard with priorities, and HQ sees real analytics across all 12 locations.
What we built
- Interactive digital menu with images and allergen tags, installable as a PWA.
- Real-time ordering system over WebSockets — table to kitchen in under a second.
- Kitchen dashboard with priorities, course timing and active-table view.
- Sales analytics for popular products, peak hours and per-location performance.
Results
- 60% reduction in average wait time per table.
- 25% increase in average order value (smarter upsell prompts on the menu).
- Zero lost orders since cutover.
- HQ sees real cross-location performance for the first time.
Technology & process
- React (PWA)
- Supabase as the shared data layer
- WebSockets for live order events
- Per-location offline fallback

FAQ
Does it work if the internet goes down?
Yes — the PWA queues orders locally and syncs as soon as connectivity is restored. No orders are lost.
Do servers need new hardware?
No — any modern tablet works. Most locations rolled it out with hardware they already had.
How long until each location was live?
Roughly two weeks per location after the platform itself was built. The full rollout took eight weeks.
Can it integrate with our POS?
Yes — the platform exposes a clean API and we integrate with the major HoReCa POS systems.
How does it raise average order value?
The menu surfaces context-aware upsells (drinks with food, desserts at the right point in service) without the server having to remember the script.
Will this work for a single restaurant?
Yes — the same platform runs at any scale; single-location operators reach ROI faster because rollout cost is lower.
